The vessel is one of six Waveneys purchased from the RNLI in England to fulfill the Category 3, all-weather, offshore rescue role on the NSW coast. The vessel is a modified design of the US Coast Guard surf lifeboat and is capable of righting itself, from a completely inverted position, within 10 seconds. 
44-006 was
last in service, for the RNLI, at Courtmacsherry in Ireland.

18.5ft Gemini Seahawk RIB
1 x 90hp outboard engine

The Gemini Seahawk was designed for operations with the South African Lifeboat Service. This vessel has been set up specifically for rescue duties to meet Category 1 requirements. CP74 is used as a fast response vessel.
