TRAILERBOAT COURSE
SUMMARY
The
Trailerboat Course is designed for people who want to progress
their knowledge of seamanship with small, trailer-sized vessels.
The
course covers the road transport of the vessel, the use and
maintenance of brakes, bearings, winches, rollers, launching and
retrieving of the vessel as well as ramp etiquette.
The
syllabus also covers:

Trailers

Hulls and motors (selection and maintenance)

Handling (rough weather, crossing bars)
-
Knots and lines
-
Basic navigation
-
27 MHz radios
-
Basic meteorology
-
Collision regulations, buoyage, etc.

Emergencies and towing
All
courses are run at the Coastal Patrol Broken Bay Base,
Bayview
Boat Ramp, Rowland Reserve, Pittwater Rd,
Bayview.
